It depends on the distro though, so in the end, distro-specific instructions would have to take priority over anything I say. We have some distro-specific instructions at https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports#openSUSE. Make sure you select the debug package for version 5.whatever of KIO.
