Bug ID: 498176 Summary: Missing dekstop/panel on 2nd screen when switching monitor inputs or wake from monitor sleep. Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 6.2.5 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Panel Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: kali...@andontie.net CC: niccolo.venera...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 177051 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=177051&action=edit journalctl from after I switch back to HDMI SUMMARY I switch inputs on my second monitor when I want to use my GPU passthrough VM, which uses displayport while my Linux uses HDMI. Since Plasma 6.2.4, switching back to the HDMI gives me a black screen. I can still move my mouse on it, drag windows over to it, and alt+tab, but the plasma desktop is completely gone from the monitor. I can't right click, either. The only way to bring it back is to go into the settings and switch primary monitor to secondary and then back. Running 'plasmashell --replace' also fixes it. This issue can also occur when waking the monitor from sleep. Usually it'll happen after it's been asleep for a while, but switching inputs is a guaranteed way to reproduce. I'm using Xorg. I've attached the journalctl that happens after I switch the input back to HDMl, Please let me know if other logs are needed. Thanks! STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Switch monitor input from Linux screen to something else. 2. Switch it back to Linux screen. OBSERVED RESULT Desktop background and panels are gone, screen is black. Mouse and windows still work on it, as does alt-tab. EXPECTED RESULT The screen looks the same as it did before the input switch when changing back. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.9.0 Qt Version: 6.8.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The multiple 'kde.plasmashell: requesting unexisting screen available rect -1' lines in the journalctl jump out at me as maybe being something related to the bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
