Bug ID: 498118 Summary: Quick tiled windows resize TOGETHER with no option to disable or configure Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 6.2.4 Platform: NixOS OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Quick Tiling Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: loveisgr...@tuta.io Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 177015 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=177015&action=edit Shows quick tiling behavior by keyboard and keyboard+mouse to resize+move SUMMARY When two or more windows are quick tiled and one wants to simply resize ONE window, the other windows are resized as well. The only ways to prevent it (that I found) are: - maximize the target window, then resize it - maximize/minimize the other windows, then resize the target window How both workarounds are problematic when for example one window's contents MUST stay as they are (a website or document that reflows the text, images, etc.). This is **separate** from somehow invisible tiles being created by this behavior and them persisting. Both behaviors are very unexpected and frustrating every time they triggered unintentionally, with NO way to reset them. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Quicktile one window to the left 2. Quicktile on window to the right 3. Try to resize ONLY the window on the left OBSERVED RESULT The window on the right is also resized EXPECTED RESULT **Both** windows are resized SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: NixOS 24.11 KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.8.0 Qt Version: 6.8.0 Kernel Version: 6.6.67 (64-bit) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This could be resolved by adding an option to the settings center in kwin settings. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
