We've discussed this hundreds of times. In the digiKam settings under Image
Editor -> Versioning, you can deactivate the hiding of the original images if
you don't want it.
If you move them at the same time, there is a risk that the original images
might be deleted. There are users who have not saved the original images in the
same directory. We're leaving it as it is for now.
