I'm running in the same issue as well.
In addition to the the issue mentioned by Mattia, if you try to set "Details
View" to be the default for ALL folders by going to Hamburger Menu > More >
View > Adjust View Display Style
and in the "Change Display Style" window change:
View Mode: Details
View Options: Show hidden Files
Apply To: "All Folders" OR "Current Folder and sub-folders"
When you hit "apply" it will only apply the setting to the current folder, but
all other directories and sub-directories will still default to "icons view
mode" when you navigate around.
