I wasn't talking about the setting, but the terrible GUI app.

Movie modes do not provide color accuracy on TVs. The PC mode is the one where
most of the processing is disabled, and color gets displayed without any
changes.
Anyways, you're writing a lot of text about complete hypotheticals. This bug
report initially was about getting the TV to switch into PC mode automatically,
now it's about preventing it. What do you actually want?
Adding an option just for the sake of adding the option is out of the question.
The display settings GUI is already way more crowded than it should be. Adding
a CLI option would be possible, but quite frankly there are a lot of better
things to do for me.
