I think the latest Kdenlive version which works on macOS 10.17.1/11.7.10 is
what you have found out: 23.08.3.
We continuously updated QT from version 5 to version 6 in the background during
this time (QT = the framework which handles all GUI elements). So it could be
that Kdenlive version 23.08.4 has so much Qt code transferred that it even
doesn’t start on macOS 11.7.10 anymore.
The actual Kdenlive version 24.12.0 needs in minimum macOS 12 or higher. On my
old MacPro with macOS 13.7.2 Kdenlive 24.12.0 runs.
