Bug ID: 497310 Summary: Kontact settings panes for KMail are broken and not consistent with KMail app settings panes Classification: Applications Product: kontact Version: 6.2.3 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: mail Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: gabr...@gvisoc.com Target Milestone: --- *** If you're not sure this is actually a bug, instead post about it at https://discuss.kde.org If you're reporting a crash, attach a backtrace with debug symbols; see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports Please remove this comment after reading and before submitting - thanks! *** SUMMARY The configuration that Kontact maintains from KMail is not in sync and empty since I edited the reply and reply-all default templates in order to reply above the quote. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. In Kontact, go to Settings > KMail Options > Composer > Default templates, and edit the templates to place %CURSOR above %QUOTE. No apply or accept buttons are shown, but somehow changes are retained. 2. Reply an email. You'll see reply is still under the quote. 3. Go to Kmail, replay step 1. Apply and Accept buttons are there, and the behaviour is fixed. 4. Go back to Kontact. In Settings > KMail Options > Composer > Default templates, %CURSOR appears under %QUOTE no matter that the behaviour is the intended and replies appear ABOVE quote. 5. Go to Settings > Kontact > Mail > Composer. There are no options checked whatsoever and all the templates are empty. OBSERVED RESULT In Kontact: - In Settings > KMail Options > Composer > Default templates, %CURSOR appears under %QUOTE no matter that the behaviour is the intended and replies appear ABOVE quote. - In Settings > Kontact > Mail > Composer. There are no options checked whatsoever and all the templates are empty. EXPECTED RESULT Changing the templates in any of the three possible places (Kontact > Kontact Settings > Mail > Composer, Kontact > Kmail Settings > Composer OR Kmail > Settings > Composer) should be effective and consistent. The rest of the options should be kept in sync from wherever we access them.
