Bug ID: 356809 Summary: Adding a new category is not saved Product: kphotoalbum Version: 4.5 Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kpab...@willden.org Reporter: lawrence.e...@gmail.com Goto: settings/configure Kphotoalbum; select categories; It looks like the bottom of the panel is below the bottom of the screen. Press the "add" button; fill in all of the data. I could not find a way to "save" or "apply" the changes. Used right-click to bring pop-up menu and chose "close". Nothing is changed. Returning to "categories" panel displays original data, all changes are lost. Tried to resize, but it would not allow length to change sufficiently, it seems on the width can be changed but only to a fix value. I suggest enabling scrolling for the entire window/panel contents. I am new to Ubuntu and have the latest(?) version 15.10. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.settings/configure Kphotoalbum 2. select categories 3.press "add" button and fill in all data Actual Results: Does not seem to be a way to "save" or "apply" the changes. It could be the bottom of the panel is chopped off. It looks that way to me. Tried to resize, but I could not make the panel any shorter in length. Only way out was to right-click and select close from the pop-up menu. You might add "save" to the pop-up menu. "close" seems to end display without saving. Expected Results: The new category is added and the new Icon appears on the home screen. It does not happen. Returning to the categories panel displays an unchanged value. Running on a Dell Inspiron N5110. It had windows 7 on it. Tried to install windows 10. The version 10 messed up the OS. Dell does not provide disk drivers for V10, so I switched to Ubuntu. First time Ubuntu user. After two days later (i.e. today) read about version 15.10, and did an upgrade. All is working well. Started to learn about picture support on this OS. Installed GIMP. then went looking for some type of "album" organizer. Found KPhotoAlbum. Tried to install but the initial download failed. Later did a second install, and it worked. Read the 3 minute tour and watched all of the videos. Just trying out all the options to see how they work. I do not know if other setting panels have this same problem of too long of a display area. I don't know if there is some way to work around the problem. I am completely new to Linux. I don't even know where to go. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
