            Bug ID: 356579
Summary: kubuntu always uses the same audio device regardless
                    of settings
           Product: kdenlive
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Kubuntu Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: User Interface
          Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
          Reporter: fschelt...@gmail.com

I have a pc with two sound cards: The sound card in the motherboard (intel
ALC889) and a dedicated sound card (cmedia cmi8738).
I have tried every setting in kdenlive - settings - playback , but i can only
get sound over my onboard audio, not via my card. Other applications (such as
dragon player) did use my cmedia card after i set the kubuntu multimedia
settings to prefer my cmedia output.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open the settings, set kdenlive, playback
2. Set audio driver to alsa
3. set audio device to cmedia device

Actual Results:
Sound continues to play over the intel soundcard.

Expected Results:
Sound should play over the cmedia card.

I have tried automatic setting, oss, pulseaudio, and all produce sound over the
intel card.
oss with dma, esound, arts drivers did not produce any sound.
The driver settings which give a greyed out 'audio device' field all picked the
intel, regardless of the settings in kubuntu system settings - multimedia -
preferred device.
