Hi,
It's a known bug in 1.3. I had the same problem.
Before the next patch or release, you can use :
*ODSingleXMLDocument odSingleXMLDocument = rhinoTemplate.createDocument().**
saveToPackageAs(odtFile);
*instead of :*
**rhinoTemplate.saveAs(odtFile);*
and you will obtain *.odt file
