We still run system tests for Connect against older broker versions and aim to keep it compatible against those versions wherever possible. Although we don't support 2.8.x anymore, I think it's worthwhile to keep the docs on how to run Connect against that version, especially since the maintenance burden is pretty light. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
