We've been struggling with our Streams apps getting into seemingly endless "encountered lock exception" loops for causes we can't quite determine. We applied this patch to our Kafka client, and while it "feels" like it improved the situation, we're still occasionally getting "stuck" where we spend most of our time rebalancing and encountering lock exceptions for hours on end, and cannot recover.
