For the record, we have an integration test for the AdminClient that shows that
security works fine:
https://github.com/apache/kafka/blob/trunk/core/src/test/scala/integration/kafka/api/SaslSslAdminClientIntegrationTest.scala
And I'm aware of many users who use it in prod with SASL and with the
sasl.jaas.config.
