Sorry there was something wrong in my binding definition.
This is the correct one:
<collection name="coll" field="arraylist">
<structure name="struc1" type="strucClass">
<value name="element" field="element" />
</structure>
<structure name="struc2" type="strucClass">
<value name="element" field="element" />
</structure>
</collection>
