regarding appointments based on caste and religion, i feel, that it is the right of the company owners.. it is they who will be affected if they prefer caste over performance... I have known a few company owners in my caste hurting themselves just taking people based on caste without looking in to performance... Now they are wise enough to separate caste from business.. We cannot emulate america as it is.. america is an individualistic society without any social links.. so they have the system of recruitment process.. whereas india is a socialised and collective society.. and hence business will be done only based on its own situation.. SO we need not criticise everything in india that doesnt subscribe to american ideals.. Only thing we need to look at is whether the person or company is running fairly and do not commit any frauds.. In the case of Raju, it is their own family assets that was lost and NOT any other's asset.. We need to nurture the ethos of equal potentiality getting rid of caste based attitudes based on the work. Here in the neighborhood, I heard of use of caste based identity for abusing in my neighborhood in Ashok Vihar, a Brahmin lady called a women belonging to washermen/women fraternity/sisterhood.
