Bob, there are web pages, where you canot open combo boxes by just
pressing up or down arrow. In these situations, these keys at once
load the thing, which you selected. To just read the items of the
combo box, you have to use the arrow keys together with alt. Another
example is the Windows settings dialog, where you can assign sounds to
certain Windows events. The arrow keys alone won't work there either.
