It looks like ubuntu didn't do enough testing.  I can see several bugs
with the Ubuntu package and all of them are resonably serious.
Do you know if ubuntu patches JFFNMS?  All of the problems you have are
around one piece of code, which I'm pretty sure hasn't changed at all.

Also, what version of JFFNMS is it?
