I didn't test this issue in a linux box, but from the thread you can see that 
there is a problem in applets (especially in large applets that needed to be 
scrolled )

You may need to review the screen shots to see what we are talking about in 
this thread.

No matter how much I over scroll in a page that has a flash in it, I get 
perfect repaint (you can't really tell it's a plug in )

After all, this is why no body running applets any more, even Sun removed the 
applet from its javasoft.com site.
