Not really, in this case at least.
But more to the point, I've never heard of an XVR-450. Is that the
right product name? I'm guessing that we'd be going through Sun's
software OpenGL rasterizer on this board even if you did get it to
work, and it would likely be much slower than our default (X11)
pipeline, so I'm afraid the OGL pipeline wouldn't be of any benefit
on that particular machine.

Unfortunately, yes; OpenGL isn't accelerated in hardware on that board:
