I have the following key generating function:
[auth:editor][year:(unk)][shorttitle:abbr:upper]
When using this in jabref-2.10-beta3 I get something like:
Abarbanel1996GSC
with jabref-3.2 I get:
Abarbanel1996G
[shorttitle] gives: Abarbanel1996Generalizedsynchronizationchaos
[shorttitle:abbr] gives: Abarbanel1996G
I think the short title is stripping all of the spaces, and the
abbreviate macro is expecting the separators.
The only other thing that might be causing problems is the regular
expression replacement string is [\&\$\{\`\'\-\(\)\}\=\:] but there is
no white space delineatiors there.
I also noticed that when I typed ^g to regenerate the function it did
not update the current entry window so that I would have to re-open the
entry anew each time.
I'll continue to use the jabref-2.10-beta3 until I can fix this.
