The same happens to me. I run Xubuntu 13.10/Jabref 2.10b2. In the
previous versions, I had adapted the order of entry fields to my needs:
for example in the ARTICLE type I like this order:

author / title / shorttitle / journal / volume / year / pages / keywords
(etc.)

Now, whenever I try to change the order of fields, I get them in order
for the current session, but restarting the programme fields are again
in alphabetical order:

author / journal / keywords / pages / shorttitle / title / volume /
year (etc)

The same applies to other entry types (books, proceedings etc.). I do
not like alphabetical order. Is there a way to leave the filed order as
I like it?

Many thanks and best wishes,
gm
