Sorry for the noise ... it seems like Jabref does have a way to solve this.
When looking at the bibtex source of an entry, you can right-click on the
'Author' field, and select 'Normalize to BibTeX name format'. Although not
perfect (there are some glitches) it works fine in most cases for most of
the author names.
However, it seems like it only works one entry at a time.
Can this action be scripted to work on a larger selection?
