The cleanup worked for the file={oldname.pdf:citekey.pdf:PDF} but not
for pdf={oldname.pdf} I'm assuming that it is the same situation for
ps={oldname.pdf} Maybe you can add a pdf/ps migration to the cleanup.

just tried it, and exactly the same behaviour:
