You can choose which columns to display in Options -> Preferences -> Entry
table columns.

You should be able to open the entry editor by double-clicking a row of the
table. When the entry editor is already open, it will switch when you
single-click on a different entry in the table. If what you are observing
is different from this, there might be a problem somewhere.
