Hi Martin,

I have seen symptoms something like this on other, non-JabRef systems, which were NFS file systems. Is it possible that your bib references are on an NFS system and your access to that file is sometimes slowed by other people's accesses? If you bib file is on an NFS (or other remote system) can you place it on a local system and see if the problem persists?

Just a thought.

Cheers,

Hi Morten,

I have the problem when I simply select an entry to see its preview.

My Java distribution information:
mpaesold@ECM-MATHS-009:~$ java -version
java version "1.7.0_05-icedtea"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (rhel-2.2.1.el6_3-x86_64)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.0-b21, mixed mode)

Hi all,

I use JabRef for a long time already and I'm very happy with it. A big
thank you to all the developers and their great work!

I noticed that JabRef behaves strangely in my case when I start it. I
was wondering whether someone could help with that: JabRef starts
fine, but when I choose a reference JabRef freezes for 1 or 2 minutes
before it displays the details of the reference I picked. In the
meantime I can't click anything else. After that JabRef runs fine. Can
I fix this with a setting or is a package missing?
Hi,

I haven't seen anything like this. Does it happen when you simply
select an entry to see its preview at the bottom of the window, or
when you open the entry editor for the first time? Are you using the
Sun/Oracle JVM or something else?
