The typical LaTeX way is to use the \textit{} command, e.g. "Normal
text, \textit{italics text} and more normal text". This will work fine
if you are using your bib file with BibTeX, and JabRef will convert it
when you export citations or use it in other ways (for instance, when
exporting to HTML "\textit{...}" will be converted to "<i>...</i>").
