maybe our BibSonomy Scrapingservice is useful for your purposes:

  http://scraper.bibsonomy.org

In the input box, you can enter a URL - e.g. to a ScienceDirect article
like this:

  http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0031320310000051

And the scraper will extract a BibTeX entry from this page like this:

http://scraper.bibsonomy.org/service?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sciencedirect.com%2Fscience%2Farticle%2Fpii%2FS0031320310000051

If you append the parameter "format=bibtex", then you get plain bibtex
as the result:

http://scraper.bibsonomy.org/service?format=bibtex&selection=&url=http%3a%2f%2fwww.sciencedirect.com%2fscience%2farticle%2fpii%2fS0031320310000051

For tighter integration, we're also offering a JabRef plugin:

Maybe that's of any help for you. Best regards,
  Dominik
