Review Comment:
Fixed in 866e2d267b. `reader.read(null)` is now gated on whether the
requested schema contains any field that requires a `GridCoverage2D` (width,
height, numBands, srid, crs, geoTransform, cornerCoordinates, bands). For
queries selecting only cheap fields (path, driver, fileSize, overviews,
metadata, isTiled, compression), the coverage is never built. If only
path/driver/fileSize are requested, the file is not opened at all.

Review Comment:
Fixed in 866e2d267b. Each TIFF IIO call is now gated on whether its consumer
column is in `readDataSchema`: `hasTiffTag` only runs when `isTiled` is
selected, `extractPhotometricInterpretation` only when `bands` is selected,
`extractMetadata` only for `metadata`, `extractCompression` only for
`compression`.

Review Comment:
Fixed in 866e2d267b. Added an `isDirectory` helper that checks the trailing
slash first, then falls back to `FileSystem.getFileStatus(path).isDirectory`
via Hadoop FS. Directory paths without a trailing slash now apply the same
recursive lookup + `*.{tif, tiff,TIF,TIFF}` glob filter.

Review Comment:
Fixed in 866e2d267b. Added test `should read files from directory without
trailing slash` that loads `rasterDir.stripSuffix("/")` and asserts the same
9-file recursive count as the trailing-slash variant.
