This is in fact a
[SCM#perforce|https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/SCM/component/11194]-issue. It
seems like the order of the arguments matter. The 'edit' is implemented, so it
looks like the behaviour has changed.
You should have a look at the
[PerforceEditCommand|http://maven.apache.org/scm/maven-scm-providers/maven-scm-provider-perforce/xref/org/apache/maven/scm/provider/perforce/command/edit/PerforceEditCommand.html],
which indeed adds the {{edit}} as final argument. That's where a fix should be
applied.
