Dennis, I ran into the same issue with a repository at
g...@github.com:1and1/java-memcached-client.git. This URL seems to be
perfectly valid for {{git remote}}. I would be happy if you could supply an
alternative syntax for the URL for usage in Maven. [git
fetch|http://schacon.github.com/git/git-fetch.html|] gives this kind of URL as
an example as well in the *GIT URLS* section:
