Martin Buechler commented on MEAR-43:
-------------------------------------

Today maven-filtering left the
sandbox(http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/maven/shared/trunk/maven-filtering),
and I would suggest to take a decision on this issue. I really wish to get its
priority increased, since the lack of filtering makes the ear plugin quite
useless for serious configuration management. Ok, just an opinion ;)
The submitted patch stopped working whith version 678595, because
maven-filtering switched to 'plexus-interpolation', whatever this means, but
they deleted ReflectionProperties.java, which my patch imports. But anyway, to
keep this functionality going until its gets hopefuly included to the MEAR
trunk, I updated the patch, but do not want to submit it, until the future
direction of this issue gets clearer.
Stephane suggested to use the resources plugin. Any news on that approach?

> I need to do some template var replacements in files in
> src/main/application/. It would be great if the ear plugin could provide a
> filtering configuration in a similar manner to the war plugin. That is,
> something along the lines of:
> <configuration>
> ...
>   <!-- enable filtering -->
> <filtering>true</filtering>
> </configuration>
