When using the assembly plugin to construct a remote repository as described on
http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-assembly-plugin/examples/single/using-repositories.html,
the repository contains "local" metadata files such as
maven-metadata-central.xml.
The remote repository format should only contain maven-metadata.xml files.
Need to re-test with 2.2-beta-2 to confirm.
