Maybe the bug is that the default is not the empty string? We can distinguish between an element that is present with an empty string value and an element that is not present. Maybe only the latter should be the default? I'm not sure. Also possible there is a bug but it's not where you think. Maybe the configurator should call the setter for an explicitly empty element and that's what we should change? We need to think this through very carefully and make sure the change makes sense in the large, rather than just patching one idiosyncratic issue. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
