Note to anyone: For me, for "maven versions" the implementation is here: https://github.com/apache/maven-resolver/tree/master/maven-resolver-util/src/main/java/org/eclipse/aether/util/version And spec is here: https://github.com/apache/maven-resolver/blob/master/maven-resolver-util/src/main/java/org/eclipse/aether/util/version/package-info.java Everything else (including maven-artifact) for me is _deprecated_ and duplication that somewhere in the future, we need to get rid of.
