@sparsick Thanks for the overview. Another thought. Why not split the site? Leave the current site as it is for Maven 3 and have a more recent one called Maven 4 with a link to Maven 3. Not unusual. JUnit, yarn and many other projects do the same thing. Otherwise it makes an already complex site even more complex and harder to navigate and comprehend with every main section split between two versions. The website is already loaded with so much stuff and this won't make this easier to upgrade. The CSS is already 10 years old. I assume most people who visit maven site are users. They want to install Apache Maven and learn the basics. Then there are the plugin developers and contributors. I would focus on the needs of the bigger group: the users.
