with version 3.0.0 and MCHANGES-432 the parameter {{escapeHTML}} was removed
from the plugin.
i'm aware that this parameter was deprecated for >10 years, and that it does
not work with other output formats e.g. PDF.
however, we are using the maven-changes-plugin only for generating HTML changes
reports, and we use it in > 50 individual projects/libraries to generate the
project web sites, and we make use of embedded HTML tags e.g. for anchor tags
to link for further information, marking important changes with bold and
similar stuff.
do you see a chance to add it back? i can come up with a PR if you accept it.
