If you are using maven / wagon to deploy to the archiva repository, please be
aware that, by default the repositories are intentionally read-only and secure.
To enable the ability to write to the repository you must grant the "Repository
Manager" roles to the authenticated users that you wish to have that ability.
Or you can grant the "Repository Manager" role to the Guest user and have that
repository be available to all unauthenticated clients.

_(Aside, if you are using native OSX webdav clients)_
This is a known issue with OSX native webdav clients.
The OSX client is broken and attempts to set WebDAV lvl 2 locks on a advertised
WebDAV lvl 1 repository.
The Apache Jackrabbit and Apache Slide webdav servers have hacks for OSX native
clients to undo the boneheaded locking it insists on doing against the webdav
server.
We do not use Apache Jackrabbit or Apache Slide, as they have been nigh
impossible to embed within Archiva.
We would welcome any assistance to integrate those projects within Archiva.
