Cannot generate Javadoc on Mac OS X if path contains space characters

Running 'mvn javadoc:javadoc' fails if the path to the current directory
contains a space character. It works with the 2.0 version of the plugin. It
also works if I rename the directory so that it does not contain a space
character.
