I don't think this is the correct way to think about this. PMD does not build
the code or have any effect on the output byte code and artifacts. It's
advisory only. When the advisory tool fails, the code still builds just like it
does without PMD. Failing the build here is unnecessary and unhelpful.I suggest
reporting the bug to PMD.
