I have started to use toolchains plugin today for Java 8 and 17, and noticed 
that build time has doubled since.

Is this a known issue or expected behavior when using toolchains ?

There are 1466 modules in the build, out of which 5 modules are using 17, rest 
are using Java 8.

I have Java 8 defined as default in the main pom, and the 5 submodules override 
the plugin configuration to 17.

Build used to take around 1 hour earlier, now it is taking 2 hours.

Any tips/tricks to debug or fix this issue ?
