Brett Porter closed MNG-186.
----------------------------

       Resolution: Won't Fix
    Fix Version/s: (was: 2.1)

no votes, and since most stuff can be done with lightweight http now no need
for it.

I'm sure a better extension mechanism would naturally give us the ability to
switch implementations anyway, if it became critical.

>
> some tasks, like the use of an NTLM proxy, will require the use of the fat
> HTTP wag instead of the lightweight one - however, because of an identical
> hint it will need to be loaded by an alternative means.
