excludes is not working for maven-jar-plugin

The "excludes" is not working for me in maven2 maven-jar-plugin.
anyone has any suggestion/example how to make it work?
Is this a bug of maven-jar-plugin? if it is, how to find a workaround?
I can not exclude it from the source, but got to exclude from the class file.
