The current version is way behind the one in recent Maven cores. That is, it is
now at 3.0.x and Maven core is usually around 3.2.x or later. More importantly,
trying to upgrade this revealed that there are test failures on Windows with
going to 3.1 or later that probably map to actual production failures with this
plugin on Windows in recent versions of Maven when the Maven core classloader
swaps in a more recent version of this dependency.
