I will try to reproduce it today evening. The plugin also uses the SPI for the
providers in the forked JVM and they have to work. The only difference is that
this is Java SPI. Maybe it is important information.

> Project: Maven Surefire
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Maven Failsafe Plugin
> Affects Versions: 3.0.0-M5
> Reporter: Knut Wannheden
> Priority: Major
>
> When running a test using failsafe which uses `ServiceLoader` to load a
> service which is defined in the `src/test` source folder, the `ServiceLoader`
> fails to find the service. This worked in 3.0.0-M4 and earlier releases. For
> a minimal example take a look at:
> Note that if the service is defined in `src/main` then the service is found.
