Anders Hammar commented on MNG-5300: ------------------------------------ May I suggest that you file a new ticket for your issue? This original ticket is for Maven 3.0.3 and there are so many changes in core and in aether than I highly doubt the problem is the same. Also, could you please verify that a 404 status is really returned and not only a "404 page" (with some ok http status code)? To my knowledge, Maven does not read the returning html but checks the http status code. > 404 HTML page downloaded into .m2/repository instead of considering resource > as missing > --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: MNG-5300 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MNG-5300 > Project: Maven > Issue Type: Bug > Components: Artifacts and Repositories, Dependencies > Affects Versions: 3.0.3 > Environment: Mac OSX Lion / Java 1.6 > Reporter: David Bosschaert > > Sometimes when I use Maven when connected to the internet via a mobile phone > maven doesn't process missing resources properly. Instead of considering a > resource not found, all of the files (poms, jars etc) contain the HTML below. > This basically pollutes my .m2/repository as the system thinks certain > resources are there where in fact they only contain this error message as > content. It only happens when I use my mobile phone to connect to the > internet, not when I'm connected otherwise. > All other applications work fine over the mobile phone connection, only maven > acts up like this.
