We use maven-linkcheck-plugin v. 1.2 to check links on checkstyle's website: 
http://checkstyle.sourceforge.net/ with the following config:

maven-linkcheck-plugin v. 1.2 reports that the following link is Temporary 
Redirect:

But according to redirect tracers the link is direct.
