Jelmer Kuperus commented on MPARTIFACT-68:
------------------------------------------
ok i'll try and be a bit more clear
i have a project structured like this
module1
pom.xml
module2
pom.xml
conf
pom.xml
assembly.xml
the conf contains the parent pom of module1 and module2 the assembly.xml file
also in conf looks like this
<assembly>
<id>bin</id>
<formats>
<format>tar.gz</format>
</formats>
<includeBaseDirectory>true</includeBaseDirectory>
<fileSets>
<fileSet>
<directory>..</directory>
<includes>
<include>**/target/**/*.jar</include>
</includes>
</fileSet>
</fileSets>
</assembly>
A tar.gz file gets created as it should but when you open it the directory
structure looks like this :
project
.. <-- relative directory
module1
module2
> Relative paths in descriptor handled incorrectly

> We have a project where the pom is not located in the top most folder but
> rather in a subdirectory
> so we reference files like this :
> <fileSet>
> <directory>..</directory>
> this causes an archive to be created with a folder called .. in it. This is
> something you clearly do not want.
