@kevinjqliu thanks for the feedback, is your hesitation about nox specifically, or about moving away from Makefile + pre-commit at all? Because if it's nox, tox is the more common choice in ASF Python projects (flink-python, beam, paimon-python, use it), and I'd be happy to rework it that way, nox is just a very nice python native wrapper around tox, and it is used by a lot of [projects](https://github.com/wntrblm/nox/network/dependents) although not as many [projects](https://github.com/tox-dev/tox/network/dependents) as tox -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
