URL: https://github.com/apache/iceberg/pull/18770

   The `org.inferred.processors` plugin (gradle-processors 3.7.0) is applied to
every subproject but no
   longer does anything: every annotation processor is declared through
Gradle's own
   `annotationProcessor` configuration, and the plugin's source repository no
longer exists. On Gradle
   8.14.6 it is the source of three deprecations Gradle 9 turns into errors
(`JavaPluginConvention`,
   `Convention`, `IdeaModule.testSourceDirs`). IntelliJ reads
`annotationProcessor` from the Gradle
   import directly. Part of #14094.

   Test plan: `./gradlew --warning-mode all help` shows the three deprecations
on `main` and none here;
   `./gradlew build -x test -x integrationTest -x javadoc -DsparkVersions=
-DflinkVersions= -DkafkaVersions=`
   on JDK 21 passes (compile with Error Prone, checkstyle, spotless, revapi).
CI covers the Spark and
   Flink modules.

   - Prompt Summary: Prepare small Gradle 8-compatible build cleanups that
unblock a later Gradle 9 upgrade, and verify each locally.
